What is Microcurrent?
Microcurrent technology utilizes a device that delivers low frequencies of energy (less than one millionth of an amp) that work in harmony with the body's electrical system. The device provides the muscles with very small amounts of electricity which causes them to flex. This is a gentle and non-invasive service that will exercise and strengthen the muscle.
Where can Microcurrent Be Used?
Microcurrent can be performed on the face as well as on the body to provide muscle tone and definition.
Common Areas Include:
-
Face and Neck (Most Popular)
-
Abdomen and Obliques
-
Thighs (Hip Abductors, Hamstrings, and Quads)
-
Arms (Triceps and Biceps)
-
Glutes and Lower Back
-
Calves
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
For Optimal Results, a series of 9-12 sessions is recommended within a 60-90 day period. A minimum of 1 session every 7 to 10 days is suggested (or a maximum of 2 sessions per week) until desired results are achieved.

Maintenance will depend on the individual's goal. One session every 6 to 8 weeks is suggested for maintenance after initial series of weekly visits. In some cases it is recommended to do maintenance visits every 4 weeks. A customized routine will be discussed during your consultation to find the best regimen per client. Individual results may vary.
Does Microcurrent Replace Exercise?
While we always advocate having healthy diet and exercise habits, doing microcurrent alone can give you the same benefits of traditional exercise. Our device allows us to create muscle tone without our clients having to exert any effort.
Many of our clients enjoy pairing microcurrent with a physical fitness regimen to better target specific muscle groups that may be more difficult with exercising alone. Microcurrent builds muscle strength quickly and effortlessly. Also, having a consistent workout regimen can sometimes lessen the need for maintenance visits.
Preparing For Your Visit:
Microcurrent Facial
We always recommend coming to your visit with your face clear of any makeup or facial products. Allow at least 2 weeks between any Botox or Filler before having a Microcurrent Facial performed. If you have any metal in or around your mouth, there could be some sensitivity with this device. Please, let your technician know so they can adjust the machines settings accordingly. With severe sensitivity, it may be recommended to wear a mouth guard for better results.
Microcurrent Body
We will need full access to the area of the body you wish to target, so we always recommend wearing clothing that coordinates. Do not wear lotions or oils in the service area and let your technician know if you need to clean the area prior to your session.
Recommendations After Your Visit:
Avoid excessive heat to the targeted area for at least 24 hours after your visit. This means no saunas, hot tubs, or steaming hot showers, etc. This is not mandatory, however it is highly suggested to ensure the best results and effectiveness of the Microcurrent service.
Doing other esthetic services prior to or immediately after a Microcurrent Facial should be discussed with your technician to insure there are no contradictions with your service. Makeup can be applied immediately following a Microcurrent Facial and does not interfere with your results.

When doing Microcurrent on the body, please allow at least a day of rest for your targeted muscle group. This is to avoid excessively straining the area and to allow proper healing and growth of the muscle.
